In the province of Mendoza, a 23-year-old young man identified as Leandro Castro tragically lost his life after being crushed by a tree while trying to protect his car during a storm in Santa Rosa. The incident occurred when a violent hailstorm hit the region, and Castro decided to shelter his Volkswagen Pointer under two trees to avoid damage.
However, while trying to safeguard his car, a gust of wind caused a tree to fall, hitting him directly and causing instant death. Despite the efforts of the firefighters, who conducted a rescue operation lasting approximately 30 minutes, and the presence of a nurse on the scene who confirmed the death, the tragedy could not be averted.
The storm also affected other areas of Mendoza, such as Tunuyán, Anchoris, and Uspallata. Despite this unfortunate event, an improvement in weather conditions is expected for Friday, with partial cloudiness and a maximum temperature of 27 degrees. However, isolated storms are again forecasted for Saturday afternoon and evening, with a similar temperature of 27 degrees.
